Community Supported Agriculture

We have deployed drip irrigation to our vegetable fields and we had the best growing season yet in 2012!  The CSA returns for 2013.

A Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program is a unique bond between farmers and families. Customers pre-pay for a "share" in the Spring for weekly deliveries of fresh, organically grown produce throughout the season. Along with our produce, shareholders have the opportunity to develop a dialogue on farming and sustainability concepts. Our goal is to not just provide you with low cost organically grown foods, but to inform others on the importance of locally grown food and its effects on our environment, our future.

The Cedar Rock Farm CSA program runs for 20 weeks, from late May through early October. We offer Regular Shares and Full Shares.  A Regular Share will feed a single person every day, or a couple that eats vegetables sparingly.  A Full Share is twice the amount of a Regular Share, and will provide plenty of vegetables for a family of four.

Produce available for pickup will vary each week, depending on the season and what is ready that week. The produce we grow for the CSA includes: mixed lettuce, green beans, tomatoes, peppers, carrots, yellow and pie squash, zucchini, cucumbers, red kidney beans, pumpkins, swiss chard, peas, spinach, and beets. These are just some of the items you'll receive in your box each week.  We also hope to offer raspberries from our crop planted in 2012.

Shareholders can pick up their share at our farm in Mount Savage, or at a shareholder's residence in Cumberland.  Saturday will be the day for pick up.

You can download our application below, fill it out, and send it to us along with 50 percent of the share. Please call or email us if you have any questions.
